I like to write short poems, most under twelve lines. The basic structure is usually based on syllables. Each line, without a defined meter, has a set number of syllables. Don’t know why, but I find lines with odd numbers of syllables to be the most pleasing. Maybe it gets me away from relying on a set meter.
The subjects of the poems are whatever I run across when writing. Sometimes it is an image, sometimes a word or title. Don’t expect the poems to be autobiographical or true to life.
Writing everyday is the goal of the project. Some of the poems have nuggets of good in them, but most need to be rewritten, shaped and edited before they could be considered finished. Hopefully at the end of the year, I will have enough raw material so that I can go back and rework enough of them to put together a small pamphlet of my works.
