Week 6, Day 42 – "Karaoke King"

Karaoke King

I am the Karaoke King.
I sing the songs of other people,
and you like me.
You may not remember me,
but you like me.
We all get together at the local bar,
and I sing a song that might mean something to you,
or remind you of a special moment in your life.
As you drink your beer,
you laugh and sing along,
having fun with your friends.
I am glad to be up front
keeping everyone entertained.
I won’t become famous,
but I have a good time, and hopefully so do you.

Week 6, Day 41 – "Inane"

Inane

“Existentialist thought is so pure,” says Betty at the coffee shop.
Inane is what I’m thinking, but she’s hot, I’ll give her that.

“You know, we are what we do”
I think I want to be you.

“I love that you listen to what I say, I mean really listen”
What? I hope she doesn’t want me to say anything.

“I really love having someone who just listens to me.”
Sweet.

“You really get me, the real me.”
I wonder if she can tell I’m staring at her tits.

“I think that we are going to be friends for a long time.”
At least a couple weeks.

Week 6, Day 40 – "Long Way"

Long Way

No matter how many hours are in the day,
the work is never done.
No matter how many days are in a week,
there is always something else to do.
No matter how many weeks are in a year,
there is always something important that needs my attention.

I have a long way to go,
if I wait until I have time.

Week 6, Day 39 – "Elementary"

Elementary

Why doesn’t the grass grow in the street?
Why do vegetables taste so bad?
Why are fossils millions of years old?
Why can’t we see dinosaurs at the zoo?
Why does God love me?
Why is fire hot?
Why can’t I have chocolate for breakfast?
Why is hot water wet?
Why does math hurt?

Week 6, Day 38 – "Done to Me"

Done to Me

Everyday
You treat me not the best
But I can not get over the feeling
That I’ve been twizzled in a knot

Oh, what have you done to me?

Week 6, Day 37 – "Roads and Ruts"

Roads and Ruts

Let us go
down the road
that we have gone down before.

It’s always
good to travel
with a good friend on an adventure.

Even though
it is the same as before
each time it is different and new.
